Members of the Muroto Geopark officially commended by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

2025/04/15 Tsubasa Ogasawara, former International Exchange Specialist (presently a Associate Instructor at Kochi University (KU)), Yoshihiro Kakizaki Geologist (KU Associate Instructor), Atuko Shinna Professional Advisor (KU Associate Professor), Masao Iwai Academic Advisor (KU Professor), and Masashi Murayama Academic Advisor (KU Professor) cosignatory was awarded in 2025 within the field of science and technology. The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology’s official commendation, the Science and Technology Award under the Comprehension Promotion Division.
The title of the award was dubbed “Utilization of Geopark for the promotion of natural science literacy”. Particularly, the efforts to promote and raise awareness of natural science literacy for students of Muroto City students and visiting students of Muroto garnered recognition. Efforts included research activities, disaster readiness education, international relations, and even Geopark studies.
